Soon your customer will use your system straight from ChatGPT

Lovable announced this week that apps can now be used directly inside ChatGPT and Claude. For a small business that means your customer no longer needs to visit your site to get something done.

Lovable, the platform we use to build websites and systems, announced an update this week: apps built on it can now be used directly inside ChatGPT and Claude. For a small business that sounds abstract, but in practice it is simple: a customer no longer has to navigate to a website to check or arrange something. They can just do it from the AI conversation they were already having.

An example from practice

Say a gardening business has a customer portal where customers can see their maintenance schedule, invoices and the status of a request. Right now a customer has to log in to a separate site for that. With this connection, that same customer will soon be able to simply ask ChatGPT when the next maintenance visit is scheduled, and the gardener's system answers directly, using the same up to date data as the rest of the business.

What App User Connectors add

There is a second piece of news alongside this: users of an app will soon be able to connect their own tools, with their own permissions. For a bookkeeper, that means a client could connect their own bank account or accounting package to the system the bookkeeper built, without the bookkeeper having to build that technical connection themselves.

Why this matters for a custom platform

This only works when a system is built on a real codebase, instead of a template with a fixed set of features. A standard platform like WordPress or Shopify usually cannot just add this kind of connection; a custom built system can, because it is not limited to what a plugin happens to support.

It is exactly the difference between a website that sits there statically, and a system that grows along with what becomes technically possible. Read more about how that build process works in the explanations of vibe coding and an AI-native platform.
